The fastest way to reach a plumber is the phone. Call (503) 974-3329, day or night, and a dispatcher will answer. A plumbing problem is easier to sort out in a two-minute conversation than in a string of messages.
This page gives you everything in one place: the hours, the phone number, the address, what to have ready when you call, and what to do about gas smells and flooding while you are on the line. A map of our office location appears below.

Our office is on Pacific Avenue, which carries westbound traffic through downtown Forest Grove as part of Oregon Route 8. The address is where the business is based. It is not a walk-in counter, so please call before you come by. A plumber cannot help you from a front desk, and we would rather send help to your home.
Why Service Requests Go by Phone
Email is useful for some things, and plumbing emergencies are not among them. Messages sit unread overnight, and a flooded kitchen cannot wait for a reply. The address contact@247plumberforestgrove.com is for non-urgent business questions only, such as a question about this website or a billing question after a visit. Service requests go by phone, every time.
The phone also lets the dispatcher ask what a form never would. Is the water still running? Is it clear or brown? Did the toilet gurgle before the drain backed up? Those details separate a quick fix from a bigger repair, and they help the plumber bring the right parts to the door.
Calls to our line may be recorded for quality and training purposes.
What to Have Ready When You Call
You do not need to prepare much, and a worried voice with a clear address is enough to get help moving. A few details make the call faster and the visit smoother.
- The full address, including unit number and any gate or entry notes.
- A callback number in case the call drops.
- What the problem looks like, sounds like or smells like, in plain words.
- Whether you have found and closed the main shutoff valve.
- Whether the house is a rental, since the landlord may need to approve work.
- The age of the house if you know it, and the location of the water heater.
If you have photos of the leak, the water heater label or the fixture, keep your phone close. You will not need to send them anywhere, because the plumber can look at them when they arrive. Having the picture ready simply helps you describe what you are seeing.
While You Are on the Line: Gas and Flooding
If you smell natural gas, stop. Leave the building right away, do not flip switches or use a phone inside, and call NW Natural at 800-882-3377 or 911 from outside. We do not diagnose gas leaks over the phone.
For water, the priority is to stop it at the source. Close the main shutoff valve at your house. It is usually where the water line enters, in a basement, crawlspace, garage or utility closet. Turn it clockwise on a gate valve or a quarter turn on a lever type. Never turn the water off at the city meter. Forest Grove bars customers and contractors from doing that, and a broken meter or line is then the homeowner's expense.
If you are in Forest Grove and cannot find or close your main valve, call Public Works at 503-992-3258 and the City will shut the water off. There is no fee during business hours and a fee after hours. In other towns, ask the dispatcher who to call. Then tell our dispatcher what happened so the plumber arrives knowing the water is off.
If water is near electrical outlets, panels or appliances, stay away from that area and, if you can reach the panel safely and dry, switch off the affected breakers. If you cannot, wait for the plumber or call 911 for a serious hazard. Water and power together are not worth a risky guess.
Have your address and a short description of the problem ready, then call to reach a dispatcher.
Call (503) 974-3329Sewage Backups and Water Heater Trouble
Sewage coming up through a floor drain or tub usually means the main drain or the lateral is blocked or damaged. Stop using water, because every flush and shower adds to the problem. Keep children and pets out of the area. In Forest Grove, the City's after-hours sewer emergency line is 503-412-2444, and the private lateral is the property owner's responsibility, so you will likely need a plumber too.
For a water heater that is leaking, shut off the cold water supply to the tank and switch off the power or gas control. A heater that hisses, pops or discharges hot water from the relief valve needs attention quickly. If you smell gas near the heater, leave and call the gas utility.
What Happens After You Call
The dispatcher confirms your address and callback number, then sends a licensed plumber. We do not give a specific arrival time because roads, weather and the number of calls change it. The dispatcher will tell you honestly what they know. When the plumber arrives, ask for their name and check the license on the Oregon CCB or Building Codes Division sites if you want to.
At the house, the plumber inspects the problem, explains the cause and gives you a clear price before work starts. You decide whether to go ahead. If the job is not urgent, the plumber will say so and can schedule the repair. Bigger jobs may require a permit from the City of Forest Grove Community Development office, which the person doing the work arranges.
